Our quality control for nightguards and occlusal splints
Each appliance goes through a multi-stage quality-control process, from receipt of the case data through final inspection.
1. Case and Input Verification
Each digital scan or conventional impression is reviewed to confirm that it is complete, usable and includes the information required to design and manufacture the prescribed appliance. If the data does not meet the case requirements, our team contacts the practice before production continues.
2. Digital Design Quality Control
Once the appliance has been digitally designed, the design is reviewed again before manufacturing. Our technicians use dental CAD software including Exocad and 3Shape. Depending on the case, the review may cover adaptation, occlusion and thickness. The case proceeds to manufacturing only after the design has been reviewed and approved.
3. Final Product and Fit Verification
After manufacturing and finishing, the appliance receives a final inspection. When applicable, it is checked on a high-precision printed model to evaluate fit and confirm that it matches the approved digital design. Fit, finish and overall quality are inspected before release to the practice.
This multi-stage process helps identify potential issues early in the workflow and maintain consistent quality before delivery. The parameters reviewed vary according to each case’s requirements.

What dental professionals need to know about this service.
Digidental manufactures two main CAD/CAM appliance families:
- soft thermoflexible splints printed on DLP 3D printers;
- rigid splints milled from a PMMA disc.
NTI-type appliances and digitally balanced occlusal splints are also available. Thickness is customized to the treating professional’s requirements, generally from 2 mm to 4 mm.
Digidental requires:
- scans or models of both arches;
- the bite registration;
- the prescribed arch and appliance type;
- the requested thickness and any specific clinical instructions.
